Where it sits and how it should burn
On an all-gas Viking range the bake burners run along the bottom of the oven, hidden below the oven floor; Viking’s current Use and Care guides describe them as U-shaped. Viking’s service manual asks for a quiet, stable flame with a sharp blue inner cone, no yellow tips and nothing lifting off the ports. Around Issaquah the likeliest spoiler is the fuel: a range moved between piped gas and tank propane must be set up for the new gas, and until then it burns yellow. How it fails
A weak oven igniter lets gas through late or only partly, so a slow, patchy oven usually means the igniter, not the burner. The burner is replaced when rust or cracks open it beyond its ports, or when the flame stays one-sided after igniter and pressure test good.
